PAGASA 'Egay' Update | June 20, 2011

PAGASA said Tropical Depression "Egay" is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibily. However, a new Low Pressure Area has entered the country. Check out the latest and the final PAGASA Bulletin on "Egay" below:

Tropical Depresssion "EGAY" has maintained its course and is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Location of Center:
(as of 4:00 p.m.)
280 km Northwest of Laoag City or at
320 km West of Basco, Batanes
Coordinates: 20.3°N, 118.4°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center
Movement: West-Northwest at 20 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook: Tuesday morning:
490 km Northwest of Laoag City or
530 km West of Basco, Batanes

Public Storm Warning Signals are now lowered.

Southwest monsoon enhances by TD "EGAY" will brings rains over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas.

Meanwhile a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 870 km east of Southern Visayas (10.8N, 134.6E).

With this development, this is the final bulletin on this weather disturbance.

Tropical Cyclone Warning: Tropical Depresssion "EGAY"

Tropical Depresssion "EGAY" has slightly accelerated and is now approaching the Northern tip of Cagayan towards Batanes-Calayan Area.
Location of Center:
(as of 4:00 p.m.)
140 km East of Aparri, Cagayan.
Coordinates: 18.5°N, 123.2°E
Strength: Maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center
Movement: Northwest at 19 kph
Forecast Positions/Outlook: Monday afternoon:
200 km West of Basco, Batanes or
at 160 km South Southwest of Southern Taiwan

Residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

TD "EGAY" is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over the western section of Luzon and of Visayas.

Gale Warning is issued over the western seaboards of Luzon and of Visayas and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon.

Bagyong Egay Updates from PAGASA | June 2011 Philippine Typhoon

Bagyong Egay
or Tropical Depression "Egay" has "maintained its strength as it continues to move Northwestward and threatens Eastern Visayas and Catanduanes", according to the latest June 17, 2011 5 p.m. bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The PAGASA also reported that as of 4 p.m. on June 17, 2011, Typhoon Egay is estimated at 250 km East of Guiuan City, Eastern Samar - moving at 13kph with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center.

The weather bureau also forecast Bagyong Egay to be at 250 km Southeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Saturday afternoon and at 200 km North Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Sunday morning. By morning of Monday, it will be at 180 km Northeast of Tuguegarao, Cagayan.

Public Storm Warning Signal Number 1 has also been issued by the PAGASA in the following areas:

Catanduanes
Northern Samar, and
Southern Samar
